Beds

We stock beds in 5 sizes: Single, Small Double, Double, King Size and Super King. UK bed sizes are named rather than measured, and the names are standard across the trade — so a Double mattress from any retailer fits a Double frame from any other. The measurements below are the mattress sizes those names refer to. A frame is always larger than the mattress it holds, by an amount that varies with its design, so use the frame's own dimensions on its product page when you are checking whether it fits the room.

Standard sizing. The dimensions on each product page take precedence.

Bed frames are sold without a mattress. Each frame lists the mattress size it takes, and where we stock a mattress in that size the frame's page shows it as an option. A bunk is different, because its two sleeping surfaces are independent: the top and bottom can take different mattress sizes, and each is listed separately on the product page. Depth matters on a top bunk as well as size. A mattress that sits too high reduces the clearance of the guard rail, so a maximum mattress depth is a safety limit rather than a preference. None of the bunks we stock come with a stated maximum depth, so top-bunk mattress compatibility cannot currently be confirmed — and we do not recommend a top-bunk mattress at all until it is. The bottom bunk is unaffected: where its size is known, we list the mattresses that fit it.

Mostly upholstery here, in wood, fabric, solid wood, oak and metal. Upholstery colour is the thing photography is least reliable about: the same fabric reads differently between screens and under different light. Treat the images as a guide to the shade rather than a match to it. Finishes represented: white wash and high gloss.
